My name is Ronny Rengasamy and I've founded Mauzenial to teach our children fun learning techniques, coach them and provide them with 21st century skills for an optimum learning experience and employability.

Learn to Learn
After more than 20 years working in an education system that the quasi totality of people sees as ineffective, I have decided to share my tried and tested techniques in the form of a "Learning How To Learn" course where I provide targeted solutions to the dismal, apparently clueless situation.
In this course I teach how the brain works and how to use adapted neuroscience insights to optimize learning.
Learning is not only about storing and processing information, it is a holistic experience, it is emotional! Confidence and perception are key to the process. This is why we have included personal coaching (including Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Emotional Intelligence) in our educational freedom starter pack which provides a multi-dimensional approach to the adventure.
Most courses focus on a subject area, in particular, and at best they provide an interesting view and digestible knowledge about one subject. We are teaching you study techniques and mindsets which are transferable to all areas of study, we are sharing a skill which will make you independent in your learning, a passport to the knowledge realm at a time when information is readily accessible everywhere. In an era where change is the only constant and machines are learning how to learn, we chose to teach the same to humans (can someone tell us why this has never been done before?)
We decided to use a holistic approach to learning as it is affected by culture, emotions, pedagogy, environment, media, social interactions, you name it… learning is affected by life in all its dimensions and your perception of it! So let us use an approach catering to all of these!
A Few Things About Me
- I have more than 20 years’ experience in teaching (mainly Economics)
- I am an autodidact and educational innovator.
- I've published a French novel, 3 economics workbooks, and I am the author of Project Based Learning for Mauritius and a number of French short stories and newspaper articles mainly on education.
- I founded the NGO Allora Life Adventures in 2018 dealing in alternative education and pedagogies, and collaborated with a number of international organisations such as the UNEP, COI, The Department of State of the USA, ALEFPA, GARMS, Services Sans Frontières and represented Mauritius in a number of international events.
- I am a certified coach and an international skipper.

What It's All About
At Mauzenial we know that everyone is a potential genius and we propose to be the trigger to release that freeing vision of life.
I believe that the human use of the brain and emotions has been very limiting up to now and that it is time for that to change. I have decades of experience in education and coaching and I have designed adapted, simplified techniques to help your child transform his or her learning experience into an efficient, fun and fruitful one because it is what learning should be about, always!
Let us share with you how it all started...
How It All Started
Back when I was a student I was very ‘lazy’. In fact, I NEVER did homework and always tried to figure out an easy way to come up with the right answers in tests or when the teachers corrected homework.
Our testing system meant that memorizing was the most utile skill and I quickly discovered that spaced repetitions, as well as self-testing, were key. I managed to climb through the grades with more or less ease and then one day my math teacher, Mr Davay said something that seemed so natural to me:
"If you are lazy, you should be intelligently lazy!"
He was pointing at efficiency in learning, doing the least to get the most. I realized that I really wanted to be a topper at school, with the minimum effort while enjoying life at full. The key was knowing how to learn and not just browsing through books and copying books or reciting stuff without any meaning and most of all… learning something that has meaning to you, not just the stuff that will get you a pay check. And, if it was just for a bigger pay check, that should be in a simple and fun way.
Putting It All Into Practice
I learnt the most about learning in my 3rd year at A level. I didn’t go to school and learnt by myself, did some big mistakes but managed to rank among the top 16 nationwide. I went through university with scholarships and was at the same time living a full young man’s life, representing my country in two different sports, playing in a TV serial and having 2 part-time jobs…and guess what? I was among the best university students again!
I started teaching at secondary level in the school I was a student (that was my dream!) and tried to make my subject as interesting as possible and shared my techniques with great results.
I realized that adding coaching to the learning techniques was a real catalyst and lighted up many dull, bored faces. Coaching just puts them on fire and the techniques eased the workload.
Last year, after 20 years using and refining my approach, at the end of year party, one of my students told me that I had done close to nothing in class during the past year. Here's how the conversation went:
Me: Almost true… and how do you feel about the coming exams?
Student: I am gonna get my best grades in your subject…
Me: And do you think that my techniques helped you in other subjects?
Student: For sure!
Me: So I did my job, just do yours now…
And he did! He called me on results day, he had As everywhere! I had spent 1 year before teaching them
how to learn and during the last year I was just coaching them… it has been the same for my whole
career, that thing works!
